How to read these numbers

Every range on this page includes template, fabrication, a standard edge, tear-out and disposal of what is there now, install by our own crew, and sealing where the material needs it. There are no per-item extras after the fact. The spread inside each range is mostly the material you choose: an entry-level granite in a common color versus an exotic imported slab, paint-grade maple versus walnut. Labor to cut and install them is nearly the same.

Countertops: what moves the number

  • The slab. Most of the spread. We show you the full range at the shop.
  • Square footage and layout. A typical Albuquerque kitchen is forty to sixty square feet; islands and long runs add slabs and seams.
  • Cutouts. Undermount sink, cooktop, second sink, faucet and soap holes.
  • Edge. Eased is standard. Bullnose and bevel add a little. A mitered waterfall is real fabrication.
  • Backsplash. Four-inch is modest. Full-height in the same slab is beautiful and adds material.
  • Tear-out. Laminate is minutes. Tile on a substrate is a morning and may take backsplash rows with it.

Cabinets: what moves the number

  • Wood. Paint-grade maple at the base; knotty alder modestly more; hickory, rift oak, and walnut climb.
  • Door style. Flat-slab and Shaker simplest; inset and raised panel add shop time.
  • Drawers. A three-drawer base costs more than a door-and-shelf base and is almost always worth it.
  • Height and specialty pieces. Uppers to ten feet, pantry pull-outs, appliance panels, a furniture-style island.
  • The room. Walls that lean and corners that are not square take longer to scribe. That is where custom earns its keep.

Three real budgets for a kitchen

ProjectTypical totalOn-site time
Countertop replacement only$2,475 – $6,6001 day
Reface + new countertop$5,775 – $16,4002–5 days
Full custom kitchen$25,000 – $75,0002–3 weeks

The kitchen remodel cost guide explains where each dollar goes.

Why the cheap bid is cheap

When a bid is far below the others, something was left out: tear-out billed separately, the sink cutout as an extra, sealing not included, two-centimeter stone with a laminated edge instead of three-centimeter, a plumber you find yourself, or a subcontract install crew. Ask every bidder for one number that includes everything, and compare those. More in how to choose a fabricator.

Does the city change the price?

No. The ranges are the same in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, and the East Mountains, and there is no travel charge. Santa Fe projects tend to land higher inside the ranges because people choose more distinctive materials. East Mountain projects have the shortest timelines because the shop is there.

How a project runs with us

  1. Call or send the form. Jesus answers, asks what you are trying to do, and books a time to come measure.
  2. On-site measurement and a straight conversation. We look at the room, the plumbing, the walls, and how you cook. If a material is wrong for your situation, this is where we say so.
  3. One written number. Template, fabrication, tear-out, install, haul-away, sealing. No per-item surprises after the fact.
  4. Slab or sample approval. For natural stone you see the actual slab and where the cuts land. For cabinets you approve a door sample and a finish chip.
  5. Fabrication in Edgewood. Cabinets built and finished in the shop. Countertops laser-templated once the cabinets are set and level, then cut on the CNC and polished.
  6. Install by the same crew. The people who measured are the people who build and the people who install. One point of contact from first visit to final walkthrough.

Countertop-only projects typically run one to two weeks from template to install. Full cabinet packages run four to eight weeks depending on wood and finish. A complete kitchen remodel is usually six to ten weeks once materials are approved.

FAQ

Pricing Questions

Are these prices firm?

They are the real ranges we quote, but every kitchen is different. The number you sign is the one we write after measuring your room, and it includes everything listed on this page.

Why is quartz sometimes more than granite?

Premium-brand quartz costs more per slab than entry-level granite. Exotic granite costs more than any quartz. The slab, not the category, decides it.

Do you charge for estimates or travel?

No. Estimates are free and on-site, and there is no travel charge anywhere in our service area, including Santa Fe and Los Lunas.

Do you offer financing?
What is not included?

Appliances, plumbing fixtures you choose, and tile or flooring materials. We coordinate the trades and tell you the numbers up front.
