The vanity is the bathroom
Most Albuquerque bathroom remodels come down to the vanity: the builder box with a cultured-marble top and a drop-in sink that has been there since 1998. Replace it with a custom vanity built to the actual width of the wall, a real stone top with an undermount sink, and the bathroom is a different room. Everything else — tile, fixtures, lighting — follows from that decision, and we coordinate those trades or work with yours.
Because we build the vanity and fabricate the top in the same Edgewood shop, the top fits the vanity. That sounds obvious and it is where most bathroom remodels go wrong: a stock vanity in a stock width, a top ordered from somewhere else, and a gap at the wall covered with caulk.
What we build for Albuquerque bathrooms
- Custom vanities to a non-standard width, floating or furniture-style, with deep drawers around the plumbing.
- Vanity tops in marble, quartz, or granite with undermount sinks set in the shop. $600–$2,200 per per vanity top.
- Double vanities for a primary bath, with matching tops cut from the same slab.
- Shower benches, curbs, and niches in the same stone as the vanity top.
- Linen towers and medicine cabinets built to match the vanity.
- Tub decks and surrounds in stone.
Marble belongs here
We talk people out of marble in kitchens because it etches. In a bathroom it is the right material: no lemon juice, no red chile, just water and soap. A honed Carrara or a soft grey marble vanity top is the most beautiful thing we cut and it is perfectly at home in an Albuquerque bathroom. Quartz in a marble look is the choice for anyone who wants zero maintenance.
Albuquerque bathrooms by neighborhood
Heights ranches with a small hall bath and a tight primary: custom vanities sized to the inch. North Valley and Los Ranchos adobes: furniture-style vanities in alder with a honed stone top. Westside production houses: double vanities replacing the builder box, quartz tops, new tile. Foothills custom homes: large primary baths with a double vanity, a makeup station, and a stone-wrapped shower. Full details on our Albuquerque service page.
Choosing a countertop material in Albuquerque
Most people arrive with a material already in mind. We will fabricate whatever you choose, but we are also going to tell you where each one struggles, because the climate here is not neutral. Bathrooms rarely see direct sun, which opens the door to marble and to any quartz you like. City water in Albuquerque is hard enough to spot dark polished stone within days if the sealer is not fresh.
- Granite — $55–$95 per sq ft installed. Igneous stone, every slab unique, indifferent to heat and sun. Needs sealing every one to three years. The default recommendation for sunrooms, outdoor bars, and anyone who cooks hard.
- Quartz — $65–$120 per sq ft installed. Engineered, non-porous, never sealed, consistent from sample to slab. The default for busy family kitchens and for anyone who will not think about maintenance. Keep it out of direct all-day sun.
- Marble — $75–$150 per sq ft installed. The most beautiful stone we cut and the softest. Perfect for vanities, fireplace surrounds, and a baking station. Etches from acids in a working kitchen, and we will say so.
- Quartzite — $85–$160 per sq ft installed. Natural stone that reads like marble and wears like granite. The answer when someone wants a white veined top in a kitchen that actually gets used.
Every one of those is templated, cut, and polished in our shop at 2369 Old Hwy 66, Edgewood, NM 87015, which is why we can hold a seam tight and keep an overhang even. You can see the full breakdown on our pricing guide.
Why hiring one shop for cabinets and countertops matters in Albuquerque
Most remodels in Albuquerque involve two companies who have never met: one sets cabinets, another fabricates stone. When the countertop does not sit flat, each explains why it is the other’s fault, and you are left holding a gap, a tube of caulk, and two phone numbers.
We run both sides under one roof. Cabinets are set and leveled by our crew, then the countertop is templated against those cabinets, cut in the same building, and installed by the same people. If something is off, it is ours, and there is nobody to point at. That is not a slogan. It is the reason the business is structured this way, and it is the reason the seams line up.
It also has a practical scheduling benefit. One contractor means one calendar, so cabinets and tops land in sequence instead of leaving your kitchen torn out for a week while a second company finds an opening.
How a project runs with us
- Call or send the form. Jesus answers, asks what you are trying to do, and books a time to come measure. Albuquerque is about thirty-five minutes down I-40 from the shop and we are in the city nearly every working day.
- On-site measurement and a straight conversation. We look at the room, the plumbing, the walls, and how you cook. If a material is wrong for your situation, this is where we say so.
- One written number. Template, fabrication, tear-out, install, haul-away, sealing. No per-item surprises after the fact.
- Slab or sample approval. For natural stone you see the actual slab and where the cuts land. For cabinets you approve a door sample and a finish chip.
- Fabrication in Edgewood. Cabinets built and finished in the shop. Countertops laser-templated once the cabinets are set and level, then cut on the CNC and polished.
- Install by the same crew. The people who measured are the people who build and the people who install. One point of contact from first visit to final walkthrough.
Countertop-only projects typically run one to two weeks from template to install. Full cabinet packages run four to eight weeks depending on wood and finish. A complete kitchen remodel is usually six to ten weeks once materials are approved.

Bathroom Remodeling in Albuquerque: Questions
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Albuquerque?
A full bathroom remodel typically runs $12,000–$40,000 per full remodel. A vanity-and-top project on its own is a fraction of that: custom vanity plus a stone top with undermount sink. One written number after we measure. Call (505) 203-5508.
Can you just replace my vanity top?
Yes. We template on the existing vanity, cut a new stone top with an undermount sink in the shop, and install it in an afternoon. $600–$2,200 per per vanity top depending on size and material.
Is marble okay in a bathroom?
It is ideal. The acids that etch marble in a kitchen are not in a bathroom. Honed marble hides water spots better than polished. Quartz is the zero-maintenance alternative.
Do you handle the tile and plumbing?
We build the vanity and fabricate the stone, and coordinate tile, plumbing, and electrical with trades we have worked with for years, or with yours.
